Italian pet retailer Arcaplanet and Bricofer Group have signed a strategic partnership to develop and strengthen the pet category within Bricofer, Self and Ottimax stores, combining Bricofer’s expertise in DIY, home and garden retail with Arcaplanet’s specialisation in pet products and services.

Under the initial roadmap, 15 Arcaplanet stores will open within Bricofer Group locations over the next 12 months, operating as fully fledged shops with dedicated assortment, checkouts and Arcaplanet staff. A further eight Arcaplanet corners will be installed inside Bricofer, Self and Ottimax stores, offering fully branded pet areas with dedicated ranges, though operational management of the corners will remain with Bricofer Group.

The agreement also includes a progressive rationalisation of the pet assortment across the wider Bricofer Group network, with Arcaplanet named as reference partner for the category. Both companies aim to extend the store and corner model across the entire network from 2027.

For Bricofer Group, the deal underlines its ambition to strengthen its position in specialised retail and build complementarity between home, garden, leisure and pet care. For Arcaplanet, it offers a route into high-footfall retail environments through an established, nationally recognised DIY brand.

‘The partnership marks the beginning of a structured industrial and commercial path, aimed at creating value for both companies,’ said Massimo Pulcinelli, President of Bricofer Group. Arcaplanet CEO Guillaume Seneclauze said the move reflects a strategy of getting closer to customers ‘in the places they visit every day’, while Alessandro Strati, CFO and COO of Arcaplanet, described the integration as ‘a highly efficient synergistic business model’ allowing the company to optimise territorial investment and accelerate growth.

The deal was brokered with the involvement of SID (Sviluppo Commerciale Reti Vendita Srl) in Rome, with operational coordination led by Pier Marco Testa, Chief Operating Officer of Bricofer Group, and Armando Lorenzini, Development Director at Arcaplanet.
