What is IQI and how is your company involved in the pet food industry?

IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients is a trusted strategic partner with a large number of exclusive partnerships in the global pet food industry. Our key specialisation is the supply of premium ingredients to our customers, who are located mainly in Europe and North America. Founded in 1994 as a trading company in raw pet food materials, today IQI offers dedicated solutions for the entire value chain from global sourcing of high-quality ingredients to warehousing, quality checks and improvements, logistics, and on-time distribution. We own and operate a global network of logistical hubs, including distribution and warehousing facilities in Europe and North America where we process and store premium pet food ingredients. Our role is that of matchmaker - matching supply and demand and matching our customers to exactly the kind of premium and speciality ingredients they require.

What kind of food ingredients do you offer to the pet food industry and where do the products come from?

IQI offers a diverse range of pure ingredients for all pet food applications. We specialise in new, innovative pet food ingredients with specific functionalities or unique benefits that meet the latest trends in the global pet food industry. Some of the most important trends we see are the increasing focus on sustainability, demand for alternative protein sources, humanisation of pet food, demand for functional ingredients, and premiumisation of pet food brands. Our global team strategically sources ingredients from more than 25 countries around the world, the majority in Europe, Oceania, North America, and South America. Recent examples of ingredients we have successfully sourced for our customers are chicken plasma, GOS prebiotics, cellulose, carrot & miscanthus fibres, seaweeds and different sources of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, including high omega-3 fish oil, full-fat krill meal, and algae DHA. We also specialise in alternatives to traditional animal-based proteins, such as potato, various marine single species, and insect protein. Matching supply and demand for ingredients that are more difficult to source is one of our key specialisations.
