Gerbert Hofman established the company 31 years ago, initially specialising in the pharmaceutical product segment and feed supplements for cattle. In the early years, the resourceful entrepreneur concentrated exclusively on livestock husbandry and farming. Today the company is run by Gerbert and his son, Arjan Hofman.
Products for dogs, cats and other small animals were only added to the range in 2003. "Entering the pet supplies market was a deliberate decision, in spite of already fierce competition," says Arjan Hofman. For this reason it was decided early on to concentrate on very high-quality products to fill a niche in the market. Big brands such as Kong, JW, Chuckit, Jolly, Disney, Dog Comets, Country Dog and many more now form part of the portfolio.
Holland Animal Care has now developed into an international company with a workforce of over 70 people, distributing over 8 000 products to more than 40 countries. A team of 20 field sales staff travels all over Europe to visit customers.

The rapidly growing product assortment for dogs and cats is being refreshed and expanded continuously. For the Dog Comets line developed in-house, the company even offers a 100 per cent guarantee: "If a dog should destroy one of the toys, the customer will receive a new product straight away," stresses Arjan Hofman. He believes that this not only demonstrates the company's quality standards, but also its attitude to unconditional customer satisfaction.
Feed supplements from the company's production plant at its headquarters in Wierden are manufactured to the strictest hygiene standards according to GMP+ and HACCP. A large number of supplemental and care products are also manufactured under the Excellent label, as well as private labels for customers throughout Europe. To this end Holland Animal Care has assembled a special team of staff for production, quality assurance and appropriate labelling of these products.
