The world-leading Interzoo fair in Nuremberg has grown too big and international for many exhibitors and visitors. For companies that concentrate chiefly on the German market, holding discussions with distributors from all over the world is of little benefit to them; they want to meet primarily their target customers at a show. This doesn’t always happen at Interzoo. The Garten- & Zooevent in Kassel offers them an interesting alternative. This annual trade fair in the middle of Germany, which is attended mainly by German pet product retailers, is organised by the two specialist cooperatives Egesa-Zookauf and Sagaflor. These two enterprises occupy a leading position in the German pet supplies and garden market. Big stands for the organisers With their cooperative partners (including Zooma, NBB), Sagaflor and Egesa-Zookauf take advantage of their position as the prime movers here to host stands in excess of 1 000 m2. On these, they present new products and ideas to strengthen the market position of their partner companies. Some service companies that work with the two cooperatives are also presented to visitors on the stands. Great importance is attached to the close dialogue between the central office of the cooperatives and its affiliated businesses at the fair. There is a plentiful supply of food and drink too, along with a varied programme of entertainment for the visitors. The dual fair at Kassel is all the more interesting for visitors because the leading suppliers of the two specialist cooperatives also have their own stands. Around 120 exhibitors are expected this year in the pet sector alone, including nearly all the leading suppliers. Dähne Verlag, publisher of the two trade magazines pet and PET worldwide, has a stand at the show too. Open to all Since Zooevent is seen not only as a house fair of the two organisers, but also as a national pet supplies show, visitors who are not affiliated to the two specialist cooperatives that organise it or to their partners may also take part. As well as independent retailers, representatives of rival specialist retail cooperatives also visit the fairs. Download: Rendezvous in Kassel (PDF file)
