Creature Companion, which claims to be India’s foremost pet care magazine, will be hosting the 7th edition of the India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) from 17 to 19 January 2014 in Pune.

The B2B segment of the IIPTF caters to international exhibitors who want to sell their products in India, Indian exporters seeking international buyers, and Indian manufacturers and importers who wish to sell products in the Indian market itself. Product categories include products for dogs, cats, small animals, fish, horses and birds. A veterinarian seminar, a seminar on ethical dog breeding, a dog grooming seminar and a pet retail seminar will be organised at the fair. Overseas network For 2014 IIPTF has changed its destination to the lush Maharashtrian city of Pune, owing to the rising number of young professionals and escalating number of pet adoptions there. The fair will be promoted internationally by its overseas partners: Zoomark in Italy, CIPS in China, Iberzoo in Barcelona, Pet Asia & Aquarama in Singapore, ParkZoo in Moscow, Busan International Companion Animal Show in Korea, Dogtech in Australia, and Zoosphere in Russia. “We are certain that allying with international events will spread awareness of the fair and about the scope of the Indian pet market. Therefore, we are expecting a substantial increase in the number of international exhibitors and trade visitors in IIPTF 2014,” says Binoy Sahee, director of IIPTF. Pet-related activities IIPTF has decided to give a separate identity to aquariums and exotic birds in the form of a dedicated hobby segment. This area will exhibit displays of aquariums, pumps, accessories and cages amongst other products. The visitors will also witness attractive displays of aquariums with ornamental fish, and exotic birds. For the first time, IIPTF will showcase a range of equestrian products, accessories and services. Breeders, trainers, horse riding schools and horse owners will be invited to see and buy products. In order to engage pet owners and animal lovers, a host of concurrent activities will be organised by the likes of the Dog Whisperer Australia. A special attraction for children will be the Kids Hall of Fame, where fun contests such as “Paint your Pets” will be hosted. A section will be devoted to pet owners, animal lovers and aspiring pet owners, in which information will be imparted to them on various aspects of pet keeping. Further attractions of the fair:
