Light for reptiles The American company Zoo Med has unveiled its new mini-size compact fluorescent lamp that provides UVB, UVA and visible light. The new “Reptisun 5.0” and “Reptisun 10” lamps can be used with the following fixtures: “Mini Deep Dome Lamp” fixtures (LF-18, LF-19), and “Naturalistic Terrarium Hoods” (LF-50, LF-55). They also help to prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease commonly seen in captive reptiles at 6 to 12 months of age. Another new line from Zoo Med is the range of “T5 High Output Reptisun 5.0” and “Reptisun 10” UVB lamps, made in Germany. According to the company, the lamps have a stronger UVB and brighter light that is twice as strong as standard “T8 Reptisun” lamps. The increased UVB output is very good for larger reptile habitats and the lamps help to prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease. www.zoomed.com New LED lights from Hagen Rolf C. The full-spectrum lights provide five unique LED band waves, high CRI values for accurate colour rendition, balanced lighting and 120-degree light dispersion for full area coverage and uniform lighting. Three models are available: P24 (60 to 85 cm), P36 (89 to 116 cm) and P48 (116 to 145 cm). www.hagen.com Natural pet food Launching “Schesir” pet food in the Italian market in 1999, Agras Delic was the first to offer single-serve moist food containing 100 per cent natural and quality ingredients, the company emphasises.
