The branch meets in Brazil

The trade show Pet South America will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 16 to 18 October. The fair is also hosting the Vete­rinary Specialities Congress. 20 000 visitors are expected to attend, according to the organisers.

With very good visitor and exhibitor figures over the last ten years, the trade fair Pet South America is recognised as the pet and veterinary sector’s showcase in Latin America. Fair organiser NürnbergMesse Brazil aims to continue this positive trend this year. “Once again this year, the fair in Sao Paulo is expected to be an ideal place to do business and start partnerships,” say the organisers. A significant expansion of 12 per cent in the exhibition floor space for the main trade show in Latin America compared with last year’s edition is expected to contribute to this. A new feature of the show, which takes place this year from 16 to 18 October, is the two pavilions (green and red) available to the exhibitors and visitors at Expo Center Norte. The additional space is also required, as the organisers are expecting roughly 20 000 visitors and over 200 exhibitors this year, who are expected to offer those attending some interesting items: “In all editions, since the beginning, the show always promotes exhibitions of renowned brands, innovations and trends in a perfect area for hosting large business in the pet market. We already have the addition of new national and international brands, which proves the consolidation of the fair in the international market,” NürnbergMesse Brazil states. Among other things, the fair will have a special aquarium area with the support of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the main association ABLA (Brazilian Association of Aquarium Stores). There will also be a China Pavilion for companies from the People’s Republic of China, while the focus in the Sebrae Pavilion will be on developing the market for micro and small enterprises. Veterinary conference The Congresso Paulista de Especialidades or Paulista Veterinary Specialities Congress is being organised in parallel with the Pet South America exhibition this year. According to the organisers, the congress will offer a highly qualified programme covering various specialities that are part of veterinary medicine for the participants. An important function of the congress is to bring together key professional and academic figures from the pet industry to debate different veterinary categories. This is the second time that the congress has been staged at Pet South America; last year’s premiere was a great success, says Nürnberg Messe Brazil.
