Special clothing for pets The Italian company Fashion Dog offers special apparel for cats and dogs for use after oper­ations or in the case of allergies. The apparel is manufactured from 100 per cent cotton and is recommended by vets, according to the company. Fashion Dog says that the garments are particularly light and comfortable for pets to wear and easy to remove. As well as being suitable for the post-operative period or for allergies, the organic garments made in Italy are also recommended for wounds, infections, general itching and fleas, mites, dermatitis or eczema. The “Testing on hypoallergenic fabric and garments” project, run by the Dermatology Department of the University of Medicine of Modena and Reggio Emilia, has also made it possible to exclude the presence of allergenic substances. www.fashiondog.itAutomatic aquarium feeder “Eden 901” is the name of the new automatic aquarium feeder from the Italian company Eden. The company says that it is distinguished by an innovative system that protects the food from moisture. The food container is hermetically sealed in the automatic feeder and is ejected from the unit by a rotary movement to dispense the food, following which the container returns to its resting position. The amount of food to be dispensed daily is programmed via a keyboard with LCD display. Up to four feeds can be dispensed each day with a maximum of three dispensing operations per feed. It is the only door that can be operated either by a pet’s existing implanted microchip or by an intelligent tag worn on the pet’s collar, the company says. Designed for both cats and dogs, the door will be available in a comprehensive range of sizes for cats and dogs up to 11 kg, for dogs up to 23 kg and large dogs up to 57 kg. The „Intelligent Pet Door“ can be programmed for up to 20 pets and only allows those pets with programmed IDs to enter or exit the home. It incorporates numerous technological advances, including the ability to read all common 9-, 10- and 15-digit microchips and USB connectivity, allowing owners to conveniently connect with their PC for software updates and to programme the door.
