Vibrations to stop barking Barking is the dog’s natural form of expression, but many dogs bark without any rea-son or from habit. The new bark control device “VBC-10 Vibration Bark Control System” from PetSafe should provide a remedy for dogs of all sizes and breeds. The new system offers a new training opportunity by interrupting the bark-ing by vibration, which is harmless but irritating to the pet. With its patented “Perfect Bark” technology, the device offers ten different types of vibration that are triggered randomly. It also ensures that only the dog’s barking triggers the vibration, because both the barking noise and the slight movements perceptible at the neck are detected. The “VBC-10 Vibration Bark Control System” is sturdy and waterproof. It has an LED display to indicate the battery charge and an adjustable nylon collar for a neck circumference of up to 71 cm. The device comes with a three-year guarantee. www.petsafe.netEverything becomes one Three becomes one: now that the brands “mp” and “Jäger” have been gradually withdrawn and placed under the group brand of “Eheim”, the next stage in the transition will now take place. “mp Objektbau” will become “Eheim shopDesign”. “shopDesign” breeds confidence, because of its innovative technology, customer-experience-oriented design and sales-promoting presentation, says the German company. It offers different types of shop units like aquarium, plant, rodent, bird and terrarium units. All units are designed for reliability and stability. Handling and maintenance are easy. With individual covers, colour schemes and decors, “shopDesign” creates an ever-changing new environment in merchandising areas. www.eheim.deRemedy for ticks, fleas and other pests After more than a year in development, Bogar’s new product “Anti-Parasit Spot-on” for small dogs has been unveiled. According to Bogar, the product for small dogs was developed because the market for small and miniature dogs is growing disproportionately. In Europe, 40 per cent of dogs fall into the one to ten kg category, while in Switzerland the figure is around 50 per cent (ANIS). Nearly 2 mio of the approx. 5.3 mio dogs in Germany belong to this group (VDH). Small dogs are just as susceptible to parasites such as ticks, fleas and mites as larger pets, but their skin is thinner and…
