Clean teeth, healthy dog

"Our main goal is to improve the dental health of pets by developing better products," says Ole Barman, who established his company in 2002. In the so-called Double-Headed Toothbrush for dogs, a successful product was created that finally made effective dental care possible for dogs. Petosan products are currently available in 40 countries worldwide. A dedicated subsidiary was even established in the USA in 2008 to service the North American market."Dental hygiene in dogs is especially important for preventing a variety of diseases as well as for hygiene in daily interaction with man," stresses Ole Barman. And since it is man who ultimately has to brush the dog's teeth, the entrepreneur has developed a comprehensive range of information aimed at embedding the necessity of dental hygiene for pets in the consciousness of pet owners. Ole Barman has created a display solution to help educate dog owners in the store or in the reception or waiting room in clinics. The tool is called "Petosan Pet Dental Centre" and was first installed in major clinics and pet stores across Scandinavia. A significant number of Pet Dental Centres are also being installed in North America at the moment.Health from the outsetFollowing the success of the Double-Headed Toothbrush, Ole Barman has continued to expand and refine the range further: "Another important product is our puppy pack including a specially designed and very neat travelling case holding puppy toothbrush, a microfibre finger brush and a toothpaste," he says. "The puppy pack is the ideal starting tool for new dog owners. Getting used to cleaning the dog's teeth when still a puppy is a great advantage and may help the pet live longer and have a better quality of life." As well as the Double-Headed Toothbrush, the Petosan range includes "Petosan Silentpower", the world's first and only sonic pet toothbrush in two sizes, "Petosan Oral Cleaner", an antibacterial microfibre that gives fingertip control in tooth cleaning, and "Petosan Pet Toothpaste", a well formulated tartar control toothpaste.The success of Petosan products in the individual countries is down to the activities of the respective distributors, however: "Retailers and consumers alike must be informed and enlightened about dental hygiene for pets," emphasises Ole Barman.
