For the traditional German company Hunter, which specialises in the manufacture of high-grade leather, nylon, rope and textile products for dogs, cats and horses, this maxim has been a guiding principle and part of the corporate philosophy for more than 25 years. "Developing our own ideas and bringing them onto the market is part of the company's tradition. The products must meet stringent requirements in respect of quality and functionality and also guarantee optimum safety," says proprietor and managing director Rolf Trautwein. The quality of the individual products, combined with attractive design, a high degree of functionality and maximum safety, should continue to govern the company's operations in the future too.Lifestyle is in vogue"Hunter aims to keep up with the rapid changes in the market in the future and to present innovative products," co-partner and joint managing director Nadine Trautwein states. But short-lived, mass-produced goods don't form part of this plan. "Our products are of very high quality and manufactured from select, tested raw materials." At Hunter, quality begins with the purchase of the raw materials and continues through the crafting process up to the presentation of the final product. Rolf Trautwein says: "Each individual product is manufactured with great care and attention. Creativity and service are at the heart of our day-to-day business activities." Fortunately for Hunter, the company is on the same wavelength as many consumers with this philosophy. The age of the bargain hunter is over, according to Nadine Trautwein, and the demand for beautiful, high-class articles is increasing noticeably. The company feels it is confirmed in this perception by the statistics: lifestyle is in vogue, and sales in the accessories segment, comments Nadine Trautwein, are increasing considerably while other areas are tending to stagnate. People - and women in particular when it comes to the purchase of accessories - want to be up-to-the-minute trendwise and so collars and leads are coordinated with one's own wardrobe. "We're particularly pleased with the current fashion trends in the accessories segment. Dog owners clothe their four-legged friends to match their own wardrobe, and occasionally purchase one or two other items (collar and lead) as well."
