Since the company's inception in 1926, Nutro has experienced a rich history of innovation and growth as a leader in the speciality pet food industry. Nutro now enters its 80th year with a solid, diverse line-up of products Today, Nutro manufactures two super-premium pet food brands: "Nutro Choice" for dogs of all life stages, sizes and special needs, and "Nutro Choice Complete Care" for cats. Establishing Nutro in Santa Monica, California in 1926, owner John Saleen laid the foundation for a successful brand by using only top-quality ingredients and embracing an all-natural product concept. In 1976, the company was purchased by David Traitel, who advanced Saleen's vision, and worked to enhance further the quality and reach of Nutro's offerings. Additionally, over the past 20 years Nutro has expanded its offerings to include dry cat foods, dog and cat foods in cans, and now single-serve pouches. Nutro continues today as a privately held business focused exclusively on super-premium pet foods. The company also made a clear choice in its retail distribution strategies: Nutro products are sold exclusively in speciality pet stores, by veterinarians and in select garden, farm and feed stores. Pet speciality stores have a responsibility to the consumer to offer products that are different and superior to products sold in grocery stores and mass merchandise outlets. The stores are focused on enhancing the well-being of our pet companions - a focus that is shared by Nutro. The financial well-being of pet speciality stores is enhanced by recommending Nutro, products that provide super-premium feeding performance. When consumers are satisfied, they return time and time…
