“Appearing at Interzoo, the world’s biggest pet product fair, is the highlight of the show calendar for most exhibitors,” says Hans-Jochen Büngener, president of the Interzoo fair committee. At the behest of the organiser, the Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF), a variety of services are offered to exhibitors:
Exhibitors’ details are published in an exhibitor database on the Interzoo website. Exhibitors also have access to the New Product Centre, in which press reports and product information can be published online along with logos and product photos. They thus have a visiting card on the Internet and the Interzoo website becomes an international knowledge data-base of the pet product industry.
Each company exhibiting is listed in the fair catalogue and receives flyers to give to their visitors and advertising labels for sticking on envelopes, as well as guest cards on which the company’s name and stand number are already embossed. To print the advertising labels on their own invitations and invoices if required, exhibitors can download the relevant sample files online. And they can use the electronic advertising stickers to advertise their participation in the show on their own web-site too: the digital online advertising sticker includes the hall and stand number and also creates a reciprocal link to the Interzoo website.
There are always highlights to be found, such as the giant aquarium of German company Tetra.
In the fair catalogue exhibitors are able for the first time to publish brand logos in the list of brand and product logos as well as their company entries. This is especially helpful if trade visitors know the product name but not the name of the manufacturer.
For Interzoo 2006 an application for exhibition priority has been submitted to the Federal Ministry of Justice. Exhibitors can thereby apply for protective rights for their product novelties in relation to other companies and possible product pirating. The product novelties and further developments presented at Interzoo will also be granted legal priority over competitive products with respect to a subsequent filing of trade mark and design patent applications.
To facilitate online wireless notebook operation in the showground, new WLAN hotspots will be available in all the entrance and service areas at Interzoo 2006, permitting connection to the Internet via wireless LAN.
Contacts between trade and industry play the biggest role at the trade fair.
