PPK: Rapid expansion following merger

Both companies are well-established names within the pet industry. The company Jan Koemans BV was founded in 1959 and originally printed jute bags. In 1971, the company started producing woodshavings and in this way entered the pet industry. Koemans was one of the first companies in Europe to import rawhide from Thailand.  Pet Partners was founded in 1992 in Belgium by Louis Slijkhuis, who specialised in the import and export of accessories for pets, in particular for dogs and cats. The two companies merged in 1995, continuing under the name of Pet Partners/Koemans BV (PPK). The company has continued to develop rapidly and specialises in the import and export of accessories and rawhide articles for pets. A team of specialists is on hand to offer clients sales assistance with their orders. 
PPK holds stocks in its warehouses in Holland and Belgium. 
The majority of goods are imported from several countries in the Far East, but many items are also manufactured for PPK within Europe. The company frequently participates in and visits international trade fairs such as Interzoo in Nuremberg and Zoomark in Milan. In order to keep updated with new products all suppliers are visited frequently. PPK deals with wholesalers, chain stores and supermarket chains throughout Europe. It claims to be able to offer very competitive prices due to many years of experience, good relations with suppliers and the ability to buy in bulk. In combination with an excellent service towards clients and quick deliveries, this makes PPK a strong supplier in Europe. PPK holds stocks in its warehouses in Holland and Belgium, and the company is also able to supply full container loads directly from the Far East to clients. The product range is regularly updated and clients are informed of all developments through mailings or visits. Special promotions are advertised by fax and email and will very soon feature on the Internet as well.
