Current registration figures indicate that around 1 030 exhibitors are expected at Interzoo 2002 in Nuremberg.  They will be presenting their products and services in an exhibition area of 39 000 m².  28.5 per cent of the exhibitors are in the aquatics segment, 25 per cent are exhibiting products for dogs and cats, 12.5 per cent articles for small animals and 9.5 per cent terrarium products. 8.5 per cent are exhibiting products for caged birds and products for animals in the garden respectively. Specialist literature, shopfitting and packaging each account for 2.5 per cent of the firms exhibiting, equestrian sports and boutique articles for 1.5 per cent and other products for 1 per cent of exhibitors. The number of foreign exhibitors will rise to around two-thirds, a higher proportion than ever before. Large numbers of companies from the USA, Italy, China, Great Britain and the Netherlands are to be represented alongside exhibitors from Germany. As a straight trade fair, Interzoo is again open to trade visitors, i.e. pet dealers, vets, specialist authorities and relevant commercial consumers such as pet clinics or boarding kennels etc.
All the well-known companies in the pet sector are expected in Nuremberg.
According to Nürnberg Messe, the range of products and services being exhibited at Interzoo 2002 will be more extensive than ever before. One pavilion in Hall 5 is showing the latest innovations in riding and equestrian sports in an area of 150 m², while another 200 m² pavilion in Hall 7 is exhibiting a comprehensive range of boutique items, seasonal goods and merchandising articles.
The fair newspaper will appear under its new name of “Interzoo aktuell/news” for the first time at Interzoo 2002. Although no exclusively English version will appear, the edition on the first day of the fair, Thursday 9 May, and the following edition on the third day of the fair, Saturday 11 May, will be in German and English throughout. In addition to up-to-date exhibition and market information, the newspapers will also provide readers with interesting initial impressions of the 27th Interzoo.
Following the close of the fair on Saturday 11 May, Interzoo will be in party mood: visitors and exhibitors alike are invited to a lavish party from 1800 hrs onwards in Hall 8. The admission price of 30 euro includes not only food and drink, but also a varied programme of entertainment lasting late into the night.
