Mars has released its 2025 Sustainable in a Generation Report, setting out progress across its three sustainability pillars: Healthy Planet, Thriving People and Nourishing Wellbeing. For the petcare trade, several pet-specific commitments stand out.
The company announced the global expansion of Better Cities for Pets, citing its own research that only 42% of urban pet parents consider their neighbourhoods genuinely pet-friendly. Mars is also rolling out AI-based pet health tools, including the Greenies Canine Dental Check in the US – a tool that lets owners assess a dog's dental health from a smartphone photo – and Iams Poopscan for analysing stool consistency.
