The agri-food group ADM has opened a new production facility for premixes and feed additives in Apucarana, in the Brazilian state of Paraná. Covering an area of 7,500 square metres and with an installed annual capacity of around 40,000 tonnes (up to 10 tonnes per hour), the site is one of the most technologically advanced premix plants in the country. The factory combines comprehensive automation with seamless traceability processes to enhance efficiency and reliability throughout the entire protein value chain.
The plant design focuses on strict process separation to comply with stringent international quality and safety standards. Unlike conventional systems, which often use shared mixers, the Apucarana plant features individual silos and a dedicated, separate mixing system. This approach maximises formulation integrity and virtually eliminates the risk of cross-contamination.
