Koelnmesse is expanding its trade fair portfolio: Spoga Dog powered by ZZF, a new, independent trade fair format for suppliers of dog products, will launch from January 30 to February 1, 2027. The new trade fair will take place parallel to Spoga Horse and will be held every two years in the future.

Koelnmesse has secured the ZZF – German Pet Trade and Industry Association as a partner, which will support the new trade fair format in terms of content and organization. Gordon Bonnet, Managing Director of the ZZF, emphasizes: ‘There are around 10.5 million dogs and approximately 1.25 million horses living in Germany. More than half of all horse owners also own a dog, which means there is a significant overlap in the target groups for the horse and dog supplies product segments. Many trade visitors to Spoga Horse are accompanied by their dogs – in future, there will also be a trade fair for them. The combination of both themes will create a B2B platform that efficiently reaches specialist retailers and manufacturers: Hooves and paws are thus entering into a new partnership.’ Spoga Dog will be managed by Bernd Voss, who will also take on this role as Director of Spoga Horse.

The new trade fair offers brands from the areas of dog supplies, accessories, food, care, health, safety, and transport an independent platform. It will take place in Hall 6, while Spoga Horse will continue to be located in Halls 7 and 8. Preparations for the first edition of Spoga Dog powered by ZZF are already underway.
