Florian Wieser officially took over the position of Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Fressnapf | Maxi Zoo on January 1 and joined the Executive Management Board of the group, the company reported in a press release. This personnel decision is accompanied by a change in the management structure of Fressnapf Holding SE: Florian Wieser will serve as Managing Director alongside Group CEO Matt Simister.
His appointment is another important step in the strategic realignment of the company's management with the aim of strengthening international expansion and consistently implementing the group's European growth strategy. Wieser has many years of comprehensive management experience in international retail. Most recently, he served as Group CFO at Engel & Völkers.
Prior to that, Wieser held various management positions within the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group (MMSRG), including CFO of Ceconomy AG. In his new role, Wieser will be responsible for the group's financial strategy. As a strategic partner to the operational business, he will further strengthen the finance department, drive forward the internationalization and professionalization of financial standards, and establish strong governance and effective control mechanisms at Europe's leading omnichannel retailer for pet supplies.
‘His strategic vision, international financial expertise, experience with franchise systems, and strong leadership skills will play a key role in achieving our growth targets and further optimizing our operating model across Europe, ‘ said Matt Simister, Group CEO.
Wieser succeeds Sebastian van Stiphout, who was praised for his great professionalism in leading the finance department in his interim role. ‘Sebastian took on responsibility at a crucial stage and contributed significantly to our success,‘ said Simister. ‘I am very pleased that he will continue to support the company as Deputy CFO. ‘
