Kiwoko, Spain's largest chain of pet care shops, is celebrating its 18th anniversary. According to a press release issued by the company to mark this milestone, it has remained true to its original goal of improving the lives of pets and offering families the best products, services and expert advice since its inception.
It currently has 160 stores across Spain and a growing network of 42 Kivet veterinary clinics and 67 Mundo Belleza hairdressing salons.
Reaching the age of 18 is a significant milestone, and Kiwoko is marking this occasion with its customers by launching a campaign full of surprises: More than 1,500 products are discounted by 18% across all channels. There are direct discounts for young people who, like Kiwoko, will turn 18 in 2025. Purchases in physical stores are refunded by 18% (20% for regular customers), and vouchers worth 10 euros are available for online purchases from selected brands. The campaign will be rounded off with a prize draw for two pet-friendly Jaecoo five cars, a model designed with the philosophy of human-pet-friendly travel in mind. “We want this anniversary to be a real celebration that we share with those who have made our journey possible: our customers, our teams, and our employees. Jaecoo's contribution to the celebration in the form of a car designed for travelling with animals exemplifies the kind of partnership we want to continue building: one that contributes to the well-being and quality of life of pets and their families," says Caroline Arrú, Kiwoko's Chief Marketing and Customer Officer.
18 years of social commitment
Since its inception, Kiwoko has demonstrated a strong commitment to animal welfare and social awareness, as the company explains. Since 2013, it has facilitated over 63,000 responsible pet adoptions (19,774 physical and 43,369 virtual, via the Kiwoko Adopta 2.0 platform), as well as donating over 3.7 million kilograms of food and products to animal welfare organisations in Spain and Portugal.
“Behind every adoption, every kilo donated and every social action, there are stories of influence, connection and second chances. Our mission is to continue expanding this network of solidarity, which is already part of Kiwoko's DNA,” adds Arrú.
Future plans
As it enters this new phase of 'coming of age', Kiwoko is determined to increase its positive impact, promote responsible adoptions, expand its volunteer programmes and assisted therapies, and forge new strategic alliances to bring about lasting social and environmental change.
