Online purchases of pet products are experiencing strong growth

At a time when consumers are placing greater importance on animal care and welfare, online sales of pet products are growing strongly. This is also reflected in Casaleggio Associati's monthly ranking. The company identifies the top e-commerce companies in the animal category, which currently represent 1.9% of all websites in its cross-sector ranking, totalling 215 companies.

The top 10 e-commerce companies in the animal category in Italy are: Arcaplanet, Zooplus, Isola dei Tesori, CentroVete, Bauzaar, Bitiba, FarmaPets, Zoomalia, QuattroZampe Shop and Robinsonpetshop. These award-winning e-commerce websites were rated as the best places to purchase food, toys, accessories, and health products. According to the survey, the following three stand out as market leaders in Italy: Arcaplanet, Zooplus and Isola dei Tesori.

Casaleggio Associati reports that the online pet sector grew by seven per cent last year, achieving a total turnover of 259 million euros with almost no inflation at 0.3 per cent.
