In-store and online across all stores in the USA: Thanks to an exclusive partnership with General Mills, Petsmart is expanding its range of premium pet food to include the Edgard & Cooper brand. According to the manufacturer's press release, it is one of the fastest-growing premium pet food brands in Europe.
Surveys by the American Pet Products Association show that pet owners are increasingly interested in food that goes beyond basic nutrition. 54 per cent of dog owners and 47 per cent of cat owners are interested in premium pet food. The Edgard & Cooper range consists of recipes with fresh meat, no meat meal and whole fruits and vegetables. The partnership enables Petsmart to meet the growing demand for high-quality, functional nutrition options with real ingredients at a time when many pet owners are paying more attention than ever to what they feed their pets.
“People are increasingly paying attention to what they eat, and we are seeing that pet owners are also becoming more conscious of what goes into their pets' food bowls”, said Erika Tervelt, vice president of Consumables Merchandising at Petsmart.
