Arjan van Waes takes over at IQI

Arjan van Waes took over the role of managing director of IQI effective 1 July, succeeding Mark Oostendorp, who stepped down and left IQI, part of the Osi Group. In his new role, van Waes will report to Erik Schöttl, managing director OSI Europe Foodworks. He will lead the IQI team, drive growth and create synergies within the whole OSI organization.

Van Waes' responsibility will also be to lead IQI’s transformation from a specialty ingredients distributor to a full-service provider and producer of high-quality pet food ingredients. With a growing product portfolio and strong customer focus, IQI is well-positioned to strengthen its role as a trusted and innovative industry partner, for both its customers and suppliers, the company says.

He joined IQI in June 2024 as global sales director, bringing with him extensive industry experience and a strong track record in commercial strategy. Over the past year, van Waes has worked closely, together with the IQI team, with customers and suppliers to identify and develop strategic opportunities within the pet food industry. His insights into key market trends and his ability to leverage deep industry relationships have already made a significant impact, Schöttl praises.

Under Mark Oostendorp’s leadership, the company successfully expanded its specialty ingredients business and is now part of OSI, Schöttl thanked. In late 2023, IQI became part of the OSI Group through strategic acquisition.
