Versele-Laga opens expanded site in Hungary

Versele-Laga, a leading international manufacturer of premium food and care products for pets with 11 factories on 3 continents, has opened a new production unit and warehouse at its facilities in Csévharaszt, Hungary. This expansion cements the Hungarian site as the world’s most advanced and modern seed mixing factory for pets, says the company. This strategic investment strengthens the company’s position in Europe and responds to the growing demand for innovation and high-quality pet food.

Thanks to the new mixing lines, the company can now offer an even broader and more innovative product range, alongside improved quality, shorter lead times, greater flexibility, and better alignment with market needs. For over three decades, the Csévharaszt site has been producing high-quality food and snacks for birds, small mammals, racing pigeons and farmyard. In recent years, the site has grown into a crucial hub for Versele-Laga in Central and Eastern Europe. With an efficient distribution warehouse, it supplies multiple countries in the region with more than 100 000 products selected and shipped daily.

“This expansion is more than just an infrastructure project – it is a strategic response to the growing demand for quality products and innovation in our markets, and a show of confidence in our Hungarian team,” said the Versele-Laga management team.

The Hungarian plant is not only a production unit but also a centre for innovation. The team has developed its own recipe for fat balls for garden birds – a high-quality winter meal produced entirely in-house. No less than 75 mio fat balls are produced here annually.
