In an update to its press release of 30 April (PET worldwide reported), the Fressnapf Group confirmed that Florian Wiesner will become the new CFO. Fressnapf had initially only announced that Matt Simister would become the new CEO of Fressnapf/Maxi Zoo, taking over from Peter Pritchard on an interim basis, and that CFO Christian Kümmel would be leaving the company. His successor has been decided but will be announced at a later date, the statement added. However, it had already been leaked to the press that the new CFO would be Florian Wiesner from Engel & Völkers. Now Fressnapf confirmed Wiesner as its new CFO.
The experienced retail manager, who will take over at Fressnapf/Maxi Zoo in January 2026, has held various management positions within the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group (MMSRG), including CFO of Ceconomy AG, in addition to his most recent role as CFO at Engel & Völkers. To ensure continuity in the finance function, Sebastian van Stiphout, currently SVP Finance & Strategy, will assume the role of CFO (interim) until Florian Wiesner takes up his position.
