Buddy Bites, the pet food brand that donates to animal shelters with every order, announced in a press release that it has closed a 1 mio US-dollar seed funding round with high-profile investors. The investors include Leap Venture Studio, the world's first accelerator for pet care start-ups, founded in partnership with Mars Petcare and Michelson Found Animals.
The funding will be used to grow the Buddy Bites brand in its home markets of Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as in the UK. The team also plans to expand into Taiwan and launch exciting new products later this year.
In addition to the funding from Leap Venture Studio, Buddy Bites has been invited to participate in its 12-week accelerator programme, which will provide the company with tailored mentoring, support in preparing for future funding rounds, and the opportunity to pitch to top investors from the Mars Petcare and Michelson Found Animals networks.
Since its launch in 2020, Buddy Bites has donated over 7 mio meals. Each month, the company donates approximately 15 000 kilograms of food to 12 animal shelters, providing free meals to nearly 2 000 dogs.
