Campfire Treats, an American manufacturer of natural dog treats containing just one ingredient, has announced that it now meets all the requirements of the Better Chicken Commitment (BCC) for all the chicken products it offers. The BCC criteria call for healthier chicken breeds, an environment that better supports the natural behaviour of chickens, more humane processing and third-party verification to certify compliance with these standards.

BCC is a global initiative aimed at improving the life of the billions of chickens reared for meat production. It was launched in 2016 by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Compassion in World Farming, the Humane Society of the United States and other leading animal welfare organisations. As of July 2023, over 230 companies from a host of sectors, including leading poultry producers, had joined up for the Better Chicken Commitment.

Campfire Treats purposely obtains all its ingredients from US farms and fisheries. It does not use any additives or preservatives in its products.
