The German premium pet food manufacturer Terra Canis will be run by a new management team in the future. This change at the top of the company is a result of Nestlé Purina increasing its interest from 80 to 100 per cent. Terra Canis will continue to be operated as an autonomous company in the market, however, according to a spokesperson.
Following on from the change in shareholding, founder and managing director Birgitta Ornau has decided to hand over responsibility for Terra Canis and take on a new career challenge from 1 April. She will continue to work with the company in a consultancy capacity.
Terra Canis will be led in future by two co-directors with equal rights. Thomas Reinarz will be responsible for personnel, IT and operations, while Hubert Wieser assumes interim responsibility for sales, marketing, product development and finance. He has stressed that "the concept of Terra Canis remains unchanged".
