Pro Pet markets a new hemp-based line of treats

Pro Pet Koller is now marketing functional dog treats from Luxembourg company True Leaf Pet Europe in Germany and Austria under an agreement between the two firms. The treats, which are manufactured using hemp, have been available in American retail outlets since 2015 and were launched in the UK market in August. A roll-out in other countries is expected next year.
True Leaf Pet is a subsidiary of True Leaf Medicine International, a Canada-based manufacturer of medical marijuana. As well as chews, the company intends to launch dental care products and food supplements onto the market in the near future.
Hemp oil is obtained from hemp seeds and contains antioxidants along with a host of other substances that are said to have an anti-inflammatory effect. Among other properties, hemp is believed to aid moisture balance and circulation in dogs. The products are marketed under the brand name True Hemp.
