According to a press release from WZF, 39 075 trade visitors (an increase of 5 per cent) from 117 countries came to the show to find out about the latest food and care products, accessories and pet services. The number of exhibitors increased by seven per cent, according to the organiser, with 1 818 exhibitors from 61 countries attending. WZF reported that the gross exhibition area, covering 13 show halls in all, increased to over 115 000 square metres.
82 per cent of exhibitors were from abroad. Apart from Germany, the leading countries exhibiting were China and Italy, followed by the USA, the Netherlands, Great Britain and France, according to WZF. The press release revealed that 30 per cent of the visitors were from Germany and 70 per cent from other countries. The countries with the highest visitor contingents were Germany with 11 676, Italy with 2 291, France with 1 389, the Netherlands with 1 280, Spain with 1 271, the Czech Republic with 1 152 and Poland with 1 119 trade visitors, according to the WZF.
