Tropica Aquarium and Oriental enter into joint venture

The aquatic plant producers, Tropica Aquarium Plant of Denmark and Oriental Aquarium of Singapore, have entered into a joint venture to establish Tropica Aquarium Plants Pte Ltd. The company will operate from Singapore and will take over all of the tissue culture and micropropagation laboratory operations currently owned and managed by Oriental Aquarium. Lars Green, Tropica Denmark's CEO, will be responsible for the development and management of the newly established joint venture company as its CEO concurrently with his present role.
In addition, Tropica Aquarium Plant has announced that it is extending its activities to North America and has acquired the company Wet Pets of Vancouver, Canada, to this end. Wet Pets has been trading in fish and aquatic plants in Canada for the last six years. The owner of Wet Pets, Kyle Nelson, has been appointed CEO of Tropica North America.
