However, there was a 2 per cent decline in the pet retail sector in the fourth quarter

In the fourth quarter 2014, the US company, Central Garden & Pet, increased its net sales by 1 per cent to $374.2 mio, compared to the previous year. In the pet retail sector, the sales declined by 2 per cent to $217.1 mio. According to Central, the decline was mainly due to lower sales in the company's flea & tick and small animal businesses, partially offset by higher sales of other manufacturers' products, as well as higher professional dog & cat sales.
