The French speciality chain appoints Thierry Sonalier as its new CEO

The French store chain Jardiland, which specialises in garden and pet supplies, has appointed Thierry Sonalier as its new CEO. The 53-year-old Sonalier is expected to drive the growth of the chain, which has 202 stores, and further increase last year’s sales amounting to € 816 mio. Before joining Jardiland, Sonalier held appointments including that of director of operations at Sephora France. In 2001, he became CEO and then chairman of Société Financière de Distribution (SFD - Espaces SFR), the retail subsidiary of the SFR group. In 2005, Sonalier helped found Montefiore Investment, where his responsibilities included new investments and monitoring portfolio companies in the retail sector.
