Europe’s leading pet store chain Fressnapf recorded overall sales of € 1.46 bn in fiscal 2012. Speaking at the press briefing in Krefeld on the company’s financial statement, Fressnapf boss Torsten Toeller said that this equated to growth of 7 per cent compared with the previous year. The company’s sales in Germany in the last fiscal year came to € 970 mio, 6 per cent more than the previous year. Sales on a comparable store area grew by 4 per cent in the domestic market. In eleven other countries, Fressnapf achieved sales of more than € 490 mio, equivalent to an increase of 10 per cent. Like-for-like growth amounted to 2.3 per cent. According to Torsten Toeller, Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Italy were among the fastest-growing markets.
