Participation in obstacle course racing with dogs has grown significantly across multiple markets, according to data compiled by Norwegian active dog gear brand Non-stop dogwear. Events in the US, Germany, Sweden, and the UK have recorded participation increases of between 51% and 90% since 2024, with a notable share of first-time competitors at each event – suggesting the sport is broadening beyond its established community.

In Germany, organizer StrongDog reported growth from around 3,800 to 5,720 participants between 2024 and 2025. In Sweden, Muddy Paws expanded its annual event from two to three days in 2026 to accommodate demand, reaching around 2,000 participants. In the US, the One World Canine Obstacle Run nearly doubled its spring event attendance to 1,172 competitors. Women make up 70–75% of participants across several events.

In response to growing demand for entry-level guidance, Non-stop dogwear is launching a free five-week online course covering foundational skills, safe progression, and teamwork between dog and owner.
