Baumax moves into Turkey

The Austrian DIY store operator Baumax opened its first store in Istanbul at the end of May on a retail area of around 15 000 m². This brings the total number of outlets operated in Turkey by Baumax to six. The new store on two floors is in the European part of the city and stocks a range that is tailored to the specific requirements of the country. More than 75 per cent of the suppliers also come from the region.
Baumax currently operates 159 stores in nine countries: six in Turkey, 66 in Austria, 24 in the Czech Republic, 15 in Slovakia, 15 in Hungary, four in Slovenia, seven in Croatia, 15 in Romania and seven in Bulgaria.
