Bacterial products currently on the market are adapted from products used by the waste water industry, an industry which has to deal with large amounts of organic waste that needs to be broken down. But this level of waste does not exist in aquariums and the bacteria need 14 days to adjust. In this time high levels of ammonia and nitrite can develop, which can be extremely harmful to fish. Now this is in the past. “HS Aqua Bacto Turbo” contains a different type of bacterial culture, which has already adapted to a clean water environment and can therefore develop very quickly. It is important that fish are present in the aquarium from the start. Of course you will notice a slight increase in ammonia and nitrite levels, but these levels will not be dangerous for your fish.
