Hornbach Group increased its net sales

The company’s DIY stores with garden centres grew by 5.4 per cent at home, but stagnated abroad

According to interim figures published today, the Hornbach Group increased its net sales between 1 March 2011 and 29 February 2012 by 6.2 per cent to € 3,204 million (previous year: € 3,017 million). The Hornbach-Baumarkt-AG subgroup passed the three billion euro mark for the first time with an increase of 5.8 per cent in sales. Sales in other European countries accounted for 42.4 per cent of this figure (previous year: 42.1 per cent). The strongest growth momentum in the last fiscal year came from Germany, where the DIY stores with garden centres exhibited net growth of 5.4 per cent (like-for-like growth 5.8 per cent). Elsewhere in Europe, Hornbach’s sales increased following the opening of two new stores by 6.5 per cent to € 1,272 mio (previous year: € 1,195 mio). Excluding currency items, international sales declined slightly (minus 1 per cent).
