The executive director of the World Pet Association (WPA) for many years, has died at the age of 84. He was instrumental in creating the Companion Animal Hygienist (CAH) programme to certify groomers around the world

Thomas Hugh McLaughlin, executive director of the World Pet Association (WPA) for many years, has died at the age of 84. He was instrumental in creating the Companion Animal Hygienist (CAH) programme to certify groomers around the world. Tom McLaughlin was also at the helm when the WPA began the American Family Pet Show, now known as America’s Family Pet Expo, which serves the industry as the largest pet expo in the US. Tom McLaughlin led the WPA to new heights before his retirement in 2006. His career in the pet industry also included stops with such companies as Lambert Kay and St. Jons.
