According to the US dog food manufacturer Ollie, an analysis shows improvements in several health indicators for dogs compared with the previous year. This analysis is based on hundreds of thousands of data points from the company’s own ‘Health Check-Ins’, as well as a survey of over 1,000 American dog owners. For this purpose, the company analysed its members’ health data from 2025 and 2026. To mark National Dog Month in August, the company published the report ‘The State of Dogs 2026’.

The study’s findings show that at least one health indicator improved for 31% of dogs with corresponding comparative data. Furthermore, 7.94% of overweight dogs were recorded as having moved into a healthier weight category. The proportion of very active dogs among new Ollie members increased from 15.7% in 2025 to 17.8% in 2026.
