A high-level expert event on the practical implementation of the new EU Regulation on the welfare and traceability of dogs and cats will take place on 3 June at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event is being organised by the MEP Group on ‘Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development’ and will bring together EU decision-makers, enforcement authorities, veterinarians, civil society and industry representatives.
The focus is on the first EU regulation of its kind, which introduces minimum standards for breeding establishments, pet shops and animal shelters, mandatory microchipping, stricter traceability measures and new transparency requirements for the online trade in pet animals. The European Pet Organisation (EPO), as the voice of the industry, will also take part in the discussion and invites all stakeholders in the pet industry to join.
The event will take place from 8 am to 9.30 am. You can register via the following link at the European Bureau for Conservation & Development possible.
