This is what an experience-oriented pet shop in Europe can look like: at a time when many retailers are downsizing their live animal departments or even closing them down altogether, Planters has taken the strategic decision to invest. In Bretby, around 60 per cent of the total retail space is dedicated to live animals, making the shop a magnet for families and animal lovers.
Aquaja was responsible for the overall concept, including the complete shop design, customer flow and the integration of all animal categories. Through a comprehensive 3D design process, the project was developed into a fully self-contained environment in which aquatics, pets, birds, small animals and reptiles are seamlessly combined with traditional retail.
The result is a highly experience-oriented store designed to increase dwell time, strengthen customer loyalty and boost cross-category sales.
