Agrobiothers: Innovation from France for Europe

With the granting of European approval for biocides, Agrobiothers Laboratoire claims to be the first supplier in Europe to offer a product that is safe for animals, humans and the environment and has been proven to be effective in the countries of the European Union as well as in Switzerland and Norway. A French innovation that makes the market in Europe safer, the company's press release continues.

The granting of this authorisation is a historic milestone in the regulation of the European market for biocides (RPB, 2012), which aims to harmonise the product range within the EU and ensure a high level of protection for human and animal health and the environment.

A 2023 study by the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) found that nearly one in five commercially available biocidal products had significant deficiencies, including the presence of unauthorised active substances that compromise safe use for the animal and its owner. Around 60 of these were found, most commonly in repellent parasite control products, reports Agrobiothers.

After almost ten years of research and development, Agrobiothers Laboratoire is launching parasite control products (TP 19) that comply with European regulations under its brands for hygiene and care products for dogs and cats, Vetocanis Laboratoire and Bogar. They consist of pipettes and sprays for dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, developed under veterinary supervision and manufactured at Agrobiothers' site in Soultz (Alsace).
