At the end of this week, Jollyes Pets, the UK's discount pet supplies retailer, will open the doors of its first of six new stores, which will replace former Poundland branches.

Six weeks, six store openings: this Friday (28 November) in Thurrock, followed by new Jollyes stores in Colne (29 November), Carlisle (6 December) and Burnley (13 December). In recent weeks, Jollyes has already opened new stores in Chesterfield (18 October) and Swansea (15 November) and welcomed customers to its new store in Southend-on-Sea (22 November) for the first time last weekend.

As part of its expansion plans, Jollyes has also agreed to take over another former Poundland location in Blackpool, which will open as Jollyes in the new year (24 January 2026).

All new stores will offer the full Jollyes range, which includes a promise to be the cheapest pet retailer in town, with prices for two-thirds of the range being reduced during 2025 and prices for popular branded products being significantly reduced.

The new stores will offer frozen food, an expanded range for cat owners, and a veterinary clinic with vaccination and microchip services provided by Royal College-trained vets. From day one, the stores will offer ‘Zoomies’ – a new partnership between Jollyes and Uber Eats that allows customers within a five-mile radius of each store to have pet food, frozen raw food, toys and accessories delivered in just 30 minutes via the Uber Eats app.

Over the past three years, Jollyes has almost doubled its number of stores in the UK and has become a clear challenger brand in the British pet supplies market.
