St. Louis City SC welcomes its first team pet

St. Louis City SC will welcome its first team mascot, who will support the club's players, staff and fans, Purina announced in a press release. In collaboration with founding partner and official jersey sponsor Purina, the team pet – a trained and certified therapy dog – will demonstrate the power of pets by providing wellness support to everyone within the club's system.

“Since announcing our partnership with City SC, we have envisioned a world where we work together to redefine the role of pets in sport”, said Andrea Faccio, president and chief growth officer at Purina. “Supporting City in welcoming a team pet that is certified as a therapy dog will provide something tangible and authentic to the football club, City fans and our entire community.”

The search for the first City team pet will be captured in a four-part online documentary series titled Team Pet, with the first episode launching today on the City SC Youtube channel and other club social media platforms.
