After nearly two months on strike, more than 450 members of Teamsters Local 773 at the Nestlé Purina Petcare plant in South Whitehall Township in US have ratified a solid four-year contract, according to numerous media reports. The agreement includes significant wage increases, an expedited grievance process and improvements in a variety of other working conditions, according to reports.

"Workers need stability for themselves and their families in these uncertain times, and the Teamsters will fight for it," said Jesse Case, director of the Teamsters Food Processing Division.

Local 773 members are responsible for a significant portion of pet food production in the United States – Nestlé Purina is the nation's largest pet food company, with sales of nearly 21 bn dollar last year. Teamsters Local 773 represents workers in a variety of industries in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania.
