Back in January, the Ukrainian Suziria Group launched the charity project Tails Changes and donated around 50 000 euros to rebuild the Best Friends animal shelter (as reported in PET worldwide). The shelter had been destroyed by air strikes and repeated shelling following the start of the Russian invasion.

The Best Friends shelter has now reopened after reconstruction work lasting four months. It can thus offer shelter again to thousands of pets. A veterinary complex has also been built on the site with an operating theatre, an infectious diseases department, a department for therapy and rehabilitation and a veterinary practice, which will operate on a permanent basis. The veterinary practice also guarantees sterilisation and vaccination procedures.

According to a survey by the Save Pets in Ukraine initiative, the number of homeless pets taken into Ukrainian pet shelters since the start of the invasion has risen by 60 per cent. Countless shelters have been damaged or destroyed due to military operations. The Suziria Group is thus investing in the adoption of pets and giving support to the shelters.
