The Belgian pet food manufacturer Edgard & Cooper has recently achieved B Corp certification. The certificate recognises companies that meet particular ecological and social sustainability performance standards. Edgard & Cooper received a score of 94.1 points.
Since the company was established in 2014, the team at Edgard & Cooper around the three directors Louis Chalabi, Koen Bostoen and Jürgen Degrande have made it their mission to ensure the welfare of pets, people and the planet. With its "Zero Pawprint" plan, the company would like to become nothing less than the most sustainable pet food brand in the world. In 2016, it set up the Edgard & Cooper Foundation, with one per cent of all sales being donated to international pet welfare projects. More than 600 000 euros have been made available in this way for charitable purposes to date.
