The Italian online industry magazine Pet B2B has reported an increase of 43.4 per cent in sales of pet accessories by pet product retailers for the second quarter of this year, as compared with the same period in the previous year. This emerged from a survey conducted by Pet B2B with six of the leading pet supplies companies in Italy.
One of the reasons for the big jump in sales were the store closures occurring the previous spring due to the coronavirus. In particular, the segments of cat toilets (+127 per cent), cat toys (+120 per cent) and transport boxes (+100 per cent) exhibit the strongest growth rates.
