Keiko Hirose of Kyoto loves cats and had the idea of developing a food that appeals to both the pets and their owners. She put her idea forward at the guardian cat festival centred around the Kotohira Shrine and to the "Kyotango Mirai Rabo" business workshop and soon found backers for it.
The food is made from fresh fish from the Tango region and plans are in hand to use the "ago" or "tobiuo" fish species during the summer.
